In ihrer Heimat, den USA, ist Ariana Grande bereits ein echter Megastar. Bekannt wurde die Sängerin durch ihre Rolle als »Cat Valentine« in der Nickelodeon-Serie »Victorious«. Es folgten zwei Soloalben, die beide auf Platz eins der US-amerikanischen Charts landeten. Ihr letztes Album »My Everything« erreichte auch in Deutschland Platz fünf.

»Dangerous Woman« ist demnach ihr drittes Studioalbum, mit dem die erst 22-jährige Grande klar macht, dass sie sich von einem der vielversprechendsten Talente ihres Genres zu einem gestandenen Popstar entwickelt hat.

Einen Beweis dafür gibt es bereits seit März 2016 mit der gleichnamigen ersten Single des neuen Albums – ein lasziver Popsong, der zeigt, dass die Sängerin weiß, was sie tut und sagt, was sie denkt.

Neben Ariana Grande sind auf »Dangerous Woman« zudem noch weitere Stars zu hören, darunter die Rapper Future und Lil’ Wayne, die Sängerin und Rapperin Nicki Minaj sowie Soulikone Macy Gray.

Insgesamt haben es elf neue Songs auf die Platte geschafft. Neben der Standard-CD gibt es »Dangerous Woman« außerdem als Limited Deluxe Edition. Diese enthält vier zusätzliche Tracks. Echte Fans kommen weiterhin mit dem Limited Deluxe Box Set auf ihre Kosten. Die Box umfasst die CD samt Bonustracks, eine Baumwolltasche, eine Schlafmaske sowie ein Poster von Ariana Grande.
