The US-Sweden-France connection is back And who says music doesn't connect people? Blues Pills is the best example that musical understanding can go far beyond national borders. "Lady In Gold" is the title of the new, second album of the American-Swedish-French connection. A good five years ago, Elin Larsson went to San Francisco in search of herself. There, the Swedish singer met her half-brothers Zack Anderson (bass) and Cory Berry (drums). Anderson eventually brought French guitarist Dorian Sorriaux on board. Blues Pills was born. Tours with Orchid, Scorpion Child, Kadavar and Rival Sons followed, along with several festival appearances. After the release of their self-titled debut in 2014, Cory Berry left the band again. He was then replaced by former Truckfighters drummer André Kvarnström and contributed to the album "Lady In Gold". On "Lady In Gold", the international quartet now presents a successful blend of blues and hard rock with strong vintage rock influences in a total of ten new tracks. Rough riffs collide with sophisticated solos and the distinctive soul voice of singer Elin. Blues Pills showed what it sounds like back in early June 2016 when they released the title track "Lady In Gold". Incidentally, that name is synonymous with death. According to the band, they wanted to break away from the stereotypical portrayal of Death. In the production of the song "Lady In Gold" Blues Pills was supported by an old friend. Don Alsterberg of the Swedish hard/psychedelic rock band Graveyard had already worked on their previous album. With "Lady In Gold" Blues Pills show that they have managed to overcome their newcomer status and have further solidified their earthy blues rock sound in recent years.
