Springsteen and Californian pop Last year, Bruce Springsteen released the soundtrack to the film of the same name from his sold-out concert series "Springsteen On Broadway". In 2019, fans of the rock icon can finally look forward to new songs: there's "Western Stars", his 19th studio album. Inspired by the Southern California pop of the 1960s and 1970s from artists like Glen Campbell, Jimmy Webb and Burt Bacharach, Springsteen wrote a total of 13 new songs for "Western Stars," which he then recorded at his home studio in New Jersey. Production was handled by Ron Aniello and mixing by Tom Elmhirst. The Boss received musical support from some 20 musicians who contributed bass and keyboards, strings, brass and pedal steel guitar, celesta, Moog, Farfisa and backing vocals. The first precursor came in April with the single "Hello Sunshine". In addition to the standard CD, "Western Stars" is also available as a double LP on black vinyl.
