The band recorded the album in their home city of Glasgow and in the London studio of their producer Dan Carey (Hot Chip, Emilia Torrini, Kylie Minogue, Lily Allen among others). Dan's origins and penchant for dub, reggae and breakbeat have done Franz Ferdinand's groove a world of good. In addition, the quartet defend their sunny place on the Britpop Olympus with gorgeous pop melodies, diverse songs and an audible joy to play. The first single "Ulysses" already proves the hit potential of the boys around singer Alex Kapranos.
