Pianist Chick Corea and vibraphonist Gary Burton began working together almost by accident. Their first musical encounter took place at a jazz festival in Germany in 1972, when they played an encore together. The result was so satisfying - not only to the audience, but to the artists themselves - that the two musicians reunited in a recording studio a few months later to record Crystal Silence, their first collaboration.

The impromptu reunion in Germany kicked off a musical partnership that has spanned four decades - not only on stage, but also on recordings.
