Ian Anderson: 'Homo Erraticus' - his brand new album Jethro Tull frontman Ian Anderson releases a new studio album. "Homo Erraticus" is released on his own label Calliandra Records in collaboration with Kscope. The new LP's lyrics are based on an unpublished manuscript by amateur historian Ernest T. Parritt (1865-1928). The content of this manuscript is an exploration of various significant events in British history with references to prophecy up to the present day and beyond. Malaria-induced visions of past lives create the characters through whose eyes the stories are told to us. For example, it is the story of a Stone Age nomad, an innkeeper, a Christian monk, an Iron Age blacksmith, and even Prince Albert. The release of the album is followed by an extensive tour of the UK and Germany. On the tour, Ian Anderson will present the new album "Homo Erraticus" in full to the audience, along with Jethro Tull classics in a video production. Ian Anderson: "... Being a bandleader is in some ways like being captain of a football team. You don't necessarily score all the goals. There's a team around you. But you have to be able to lead and encourage. You also have to have authority. The commander of a squadron of Spitfires in World War II: everyone looks up to you for inspiration and guidance. Sometimes you have to be strict. Mostly, though, he's a nice guy. Back to the band leaders. There are good band leaders and bad band leaders. Good bandleaders: B.B. King, Frank Zappa. Bad bandleaders: James Brown. His musicians hated him. I've talked to musicians in these bands. Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band: they hated him, too. I think I have a talent for this job. The others were afraid because if you didn't perform in the band, you were punished. I think it's nice when the people you work with remember you as a good bandleader. By the way, I had to be taught a lesson recently. I always thought it was 26 people, but there were 29 different musicians in Jethro Tull! That's not a small number.
