Metal milestone in deluxe version Kreator fans beware: "Renewal", the thrash metal legends' sixth studio album, is available again in 2018 on deluxe CD and double LP. Both formats include remastered versions of nine songs from the album and three intriguing bonus tracks. The complete track listing for "Renewal" can be found below. The "Renewal" album was originally released in October 1992 on Noise Records. On the record, the band, which at the time still consisted of Mille Petrozza (guitar, vocals), Frank "Blackfire" Gosdzik (guitar), Rob Fioretti (bass) and Jürgen "Ventor" Reil (drums, programming), shows a clear evolution of their sound. They moved away from thrash metal and instead focused on industrial metal and hardcore. The result is an album that is still a milestone in their work today: "Renewal", now available in a deluxe edition. In addition to "Renewal", the albums "Coma Of Souls", "Cause For Conflict" and "Outcast" will also be released in deluxe editions in 2018.

Renewal is the eighth studio album by German thrash metal band Kreator , released on 14 September 1992 by Noise Records. It was the band's last album with singer/bassist Rob Halford, who left the band to join Judas Priest. The album was recorded at Morrisound Recording studios in Tampa, Florida with producer Scott Burns. It was the band's first album to feature drummer Ventor, who had joined the band in 1990. The album's lyrics deal with various topics such as religion, war and the apocalypse. Renewal was well received by music critics. AllMusic reviewer Eduardo Rivadavia awarded the album four and a half stars out of a possible five, calling it "a groundbreaking album of the genre". He praised the album's "fierce intensity" and "riveting musicianship". The album was a commercial success and ranked 74th in the German album chart. It was also the band's first album to chart at number 191 on the Billboard 200. The lead single from the album, "Renewal", was moderately successful and reached number 38 on the German singles chart.
