Original drummer Jerome Deupree left the band due to health problems during the recording of the album and was replaced by Billy Conway. Grim, sweeping yet subliminally strangely cheerful, Cure For Pain is an album where every song is great. Each song works together and contributes to something greater. Morphine were a unique band and this album is one of the highlights of their short career that ended prematurely.
