Nick Cave's twelfth album lives up to its grand finale: "Babe I'm on fire" with 43 verses and 15 minutes of playing time is definitely one of the singer's great and outstanding tracks. In Noctuarama, Nick Cave illuminates his perspective on life in a way that is as varied as it is rare. Musically, the album evokes a wide range of moods. And in the lyrics, too, we find expressions of all aspects of Nick's worldview, from bitter reckoning as in "Dead Man In My Bed" (told from the perspective of a wife who informs of her partner's shortcomings) to the haunting charm of "Wonderful Life." Vinyl editions were long unavailable and traded as rarities. In October, "20,000 Days on Earth" will be released, which is in a sense (i.e., with a wink) a documentary about the life and work of Nick Cave.
