Back in memory: the debut of Nicolas Jaar Ten years have passed since the release of Nicolas Jaar's debut album "Space Is Only Noise". To mark this anniversary, the Chilean-American musician is reissuing the album as a double album in 2021. "Space Is Only Noise" was originally released on January 28, 2011. The 14 songs on the album were composed, recorded and produced by Jaar himself. He was only 20 years old at the time of release. The album is his own theory of space and time expressed through music. Filigree percussion and meandering melodies in a beautiful melancholy, with audible influences of early Factory Records, Mille Plateaux, DJ Shadow and Eric Satie. Although "Space Is Only Noise" didn't celebrate any chart successes, it is now considered by critics and fans alike as a monolith of 21st century electronic music. Magazines and webzines "Resident Advisor", "Mixmag" and "Crack Mag" named it the best album of 2011, "Pitchfork" even ranked it among the 200 best albums of the entire decade of 2010 and "The Guardian" awarded it four stars out of five. In 2012 it also won a silver award from the Association of Independent Music Companies for selling more than 20,000 copies across Europe. For the re-release in premium sound, "Space Is Only Noise" is now pressed for the first time on black 180gram double vinyl (45 rpm). Along with this technical upgrade, the packaging has been redesigned and now adorns a folded sleeve including printed inner sleeves. A collector's item front and back, bringing the album back to the ears and memory of electronic music lovers after ten years.
