The Principle of Moments is the second solo album by Robert Plant , released in 1983. The album was produced by former Led Zeppelin bandmate Jimmy Page and features Page on guitar along with bassist Paul Martinez and drummer Phil Collins. The album reached number six on the UK album chart and number 34 on the US Billboard 200. The album was certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry Association and the Recording Industry Association of America.

"The Principle of Moments" is Robert Plant's second solo studio album. Phil Collins played drums on five of the album's eight songs (as well as on Pictures at Eleven). As on Plant's first solo album, Pictures at Eleven, the songs were a distinct departure from the hard rock sound of Led Zeppelin. With this album, Plant scored a big hit with Big Log, which he promoted with a music video for the now indispensable MTV television show. He even appeared with the song on Top of the Pops, the biggest of Led Zeppelin's failures.
