The RIAA® recently honored Rush as the third most successful band in the world with the most consecutive gold and platinum awards behind the Beatles and Stones. At the start of the R40 tour in May, Rush said the current tour will be their farewell tour - the last time fans will see Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart on stage. To celebrate their 40th anniversary and farewell to the stage with dignity, six studio albums from their Atlantic period from 1989 to 2007 are now being released in audiophile quality on 200gram vinyl! All copies also include a code to download a high-resolution digital version. Rush formed in Canada in 1968 with its current line-up and released their debut album Rush in 1974. Since then, they have released 19 studio albums of original songs and a cover album, Feedback, on which Rush paid homage to their role models such as Neil Young, Cream and The Who. With Presto in 1989, they released their first album on Atlantic, turning away from the techno baggage and lush synth sounds that had not passed Rush by in the '80s. The album Roll The Bones was euphorically received by fans and critics alike and went platinum, among other accolades.
