Smith / Kotzen: Smith / Kotzen LTD | CLR Die Version auf Vinyl LP in limitierte farbiger Auflage. Diese besondere Auflage wurde veröffentlicht in Europa im Verlag BMG am 26. März 2021.
Recorded in February 2020 in the Turks and Caicos Islands, produced by Richie and Adrian, and mixed by Kevin "Caveman" Shirley, the nine-song opus is a perfect collaboration between these two highly respected musicians, who contributed to all the songs and shared vocals, guitar and bass. Filled with powerful melodies and harmonies, the album embodies the spiritual approach of classic rock in the 1970s and is a blend of blues, hard rock, traditional R&B and other influences that combine the duo's backgrounds and life experiences into a very contemporary sound. The album features guest appearances by Adrian's Iron Maiden bandmate Nicko McBrain on drums on "Solar Fire" and Richie's longtime friend and touring partner Tal Bergman on "You Don't Know Me," "I Wanna Stay" and "'Til Tomorrow," while Richie takes up the drumsticks on the other five songs. Adrian Smith comments, "Richie and I started working together a few years ago. We were already jamming together a few years ago when we became friends. We both share a love of classic rock and blues rock, so we decided to get together and write a few songs and that's how it all started. Everything on the album was actually done by Richie and I, including the production. We developed a really strong idea of what it should sound like, and we're very happy with how it turned out. There are a lot of great songs on it that we're very happy with." Richie Kotzen adds: "The writing process was very fluid. Sometimes Adrian would send me a riff and I would immediately hear a melody or an idea for a vocal. And sometimes it was the other way around, so it kind of spiraled. We would get together whenever we could and throw ideas around, and that's how it evolved. Which was great because we weren't under any pressure and everything flowed naturally and I think that's reflected on the album."
Album Genres übergreifend Rock, Hard Rock und Blues-Rock. Coloured Red/black Red & Black Smoke Vinyl Limited Edition.
