Call Me By Your Name (2017) is a romantic film drama by Luc Guadagnino, based on a novel by André Aciman. At Guadagnino's request, Sufjan Stevens contributed two brand new songs, Mystery of Love and Visions of Gideon, and a third song, a new recording of an existing song by Futile Devices. The soundtrack for the film contains a total of 17 musical tracks, with contributions from Giorgio Moroder, The Psychedelic Furs , F. R. David, Ryuichi Sakamoto, John Adams, Joe Esposito and Frank Glazer. In the UK, the soundtrack just missed the Top 10 of the Soundtrack Album Chart. The tracks Mystery of Love and Visions of Gideon are being considered as possible nominees in the Best Song category at the 2018 Oscars.

The romantic film drama "Call Me By Your Name" officially premieres in German cinemas on 1 March 2018 after having already been a success at Sundance and shortly afterwards at the Berlinale. The story is based on André Aciman's 2007 novel of the same name and concerns a romance between a 17-year-old boy and a 24-year-old American woman in the summer of the 1980s in Italy. The American press has already praised the film. Like Vanity Fair: "The film is truly stunning. It's sexy, sad and funny. It's Italy, it's summer, it's family. [... ] It's life, [...] and it's great." The music matches this: a mix of well-known songs from the 80s like "Lady, Lady" by G. Moroder & J. Esposito, L. Berte's J'adore Venise, classics like E. Satie's "Sonatine bureaucratique" and new songs by the American singer-songwriter Sufjan Stevens, who has already enjoyed international success with his folk and indie albums. Two songs by Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto are highlights of the soundtrack.
