Product Information Cinema Paradiso Recordings is proud to announce the first ever release of a film soundtrack on vinyl. Featuring a selection of tracks from director Terry Zwigoff's 1994 film, the vinyl opens with Robert Crumb's reflection on music: "When I listen to old music, it's one of the few times I actually kind of like humanity. You hear the best part of the soul of ordinary people, you know, their way of expressing their connection to eternity or whatever you want to call it. Modern music doesn't have that, and it's a calamitous loss that people can't express themselves that way anymore, you know?" In addition to the black vinyl gatefold edition, a strictly limited edition picture disc featuring Robert Crumb's artwork will be released, pressed in an edition of just 1,000 worldwide. The soundtrack features jazz and ragtime tracks mostly performed by David Boeddinghaus on piano with Craig Ventresco on guitar. To mark the release, Cinema Paradiso Recordings presents a riveting screening of the documentary Crumb and Ghost World - also directed by Terry Zwigoff. Both Robert Crumb and Terry Zwigoff will hold a joint Q&A at The Troxy on September 28 and will also perform live as part of "R. Crumb's Hollywood Four" with Craig Ventresco and David Boeddinghaus. "R. Crumb's Hollywood Four" consists of Robert Crumb on mandolin, Terry Zwigoff on cello, Craig Ventresco on guitar and David Boeddinghaus on piano. "Crumb" was named "Best Documentary" at the Sundance Film Festival in January 1995.
