Spotlight Caracas: When the independent Venezuelan scene was taking shape in the 1970s. Due to the great success of the compilation "Experimental Venezuelan Rock In The 1970s", Soul Jazz decided to release the second volume of "Venezuela 70". Once again, it brings together artists such as Vytas Brenner, Daniel Grau, Aldemaro Romero and Un Dos Tres Y Fuera. They are probably only known to seasoned professionals in this country, but in their homeland they have contributed significantly to the development of a progressive, independent Venezuelan music scene. To this end, they first broke away from the usual American and British rock of the 1960s and threw overboard the Latin salsa that dominated the dance floor. In return, they experimentally wove elements of funk, jazz, progressive, Latin, electronica and disco into their production, as well as a whole repertoire of traditional local styles. The result is extremely versatile compositions that combine influences from the past and present to create unique documents of the times. As is typical of soul jazz, the compilation is accompanied by extensive textual and visual material.
