Czech Virtuoso Pianist and Composer

Ignaz Moscheles (1794–1870) was a Bohemian composer, pianist, and teacher whose career spanned the late Classical and early Romantic eras. He was a child prodigy on the piano and went on to study at the Prague Conservatory. Moscheles moved to Vienna in his early twenties, where he became a close associate of Beethoven and other prominent composers of the time. His reputation as a pianist was formidable, and he was known for his technical proficiency and expressive performances.
