Dutch Rock and Blues Band

The Bintangs are a Dutch blues rock band formed in Beverwijk, the Netherlands, in 1961. They are one of the oldest still active rock bands from the Netherlands, with a career spanning over six decades. The band's name, which translates to "stars" in Indonesian, reflects the influence of Dutch colonial ties with Indonesia. Throughout their extensive career, the Bintangs have been known for their raw and energetic blues-infused rock sound. They have undergone numerous lineup changes but have consistently centered around the brothers Frank and Arti Kraaijeveld. Despite not achieving widespread international fame, the Bintangs have maintained a dedicated fan base and are respected within the Dutch music scene for their contributions to the genre and their longevity. They have released several albums and singles over the years, with some of their most notable work from the late 1960s and early 1970s. The Bintangs' dedication to their craft and their influence on Dutch rock music has earned them a significant place in the history of European blues rock.
