Canadian Art Rock Band

Braids is a Canadian art rock band from Calgary, Alberta, currently based in Montreal, Quebec. The band consists of Raphaelle Standell-Preston, Austin Tufts, and Taylor Smith. They formed in 2007 under the name The Neighbourhood Council before changing their name to Braids. Known for their experimental sound and expansive, electronic-infused music, Braids released their debut album "Native Speaker" in 2011 to critical acclaim. This was followed by "Flourish // Perish" in 2013, which saw the band moving towards a more electronic sound after the departure of keyboardist Katie Lee.
