Argentinian Classical Composer and Pianist

Carlos Guastavino (1912–2000) was an Argentine composer, considered one of the most important and prolific composers in the history of Argentina. Often referred to as "the Schubert of the Pampas," Guastavino's music is characterized by its lyrical melodies and its incorporation of Argentine folk elements. He wrote over 500 works during his lifetime, including songs, piano pieces, choral works, and chamber music. His compositions often reflect a romantic aesthetic, with a personal style that resisted the avant-garde trends of his time.
