Colosseum is a Finnish doom metal band that was formed in 2006 by Juhani Palomäki, who was the band's vocalist, guitarist, and main songwriter until his untimely death in 2010. The band's music is characterized by its slow tempo, heavy guitar riffs, and melancholic atmosphere, often delving into themes of despair and existential sorrow. Colosseum released three full-length albums during their active years: "Chapter 1: Delirium" (2007), "Chapter 2: Numquam" (2009), and "Chapter 3: Parasomnia" (2011). The latter album was released posthumously after Palomäki's passing. Despite their relatively short career, Colosseum managed to make a significant impact on the doom metal scene with their atmospheric and emotionally charged music. Their work is often praised for its depth and the emotional intensity that Palomäki brought to his compositions and lyrics.
