David Cohen

Belgian cellist, and Professor of Cello. Born in 1980 in Tournai, Belgium. He studied at The Guildhall School Of Music & Drama. He made his solo debut with the Belgian National Orchestra at the age of nine. In March 2001, at the age of 20, he was appointed Principal Cello of the Philharmonia Orchestra, becoming the youngest ever Principal Cello in history. Principal Cello of the London Symphony Orchestra since 2021. Artistic Director of the Melchoir Ensemble. Professor of Cello at the Conservatoire Royal de Musique de Mons in Belgium since 2000 and at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. He was married to the late American violinist Corinne Chapelle.
