The Glenn Miller Orchestra is one of the most iconic and influential big bands from the swing era, named after its founder, Glenn Miller. The band was formed in 1938 and quickly rose to fame with a string of hits that became synonymous with the sound of the late 1930s and early 1940s. Glenn Miller's precise, clean, and melodic style defined the band's music, with classics such as "In the Mood," "Moonlight Serenade," and "Chattanooga Choo Choo" achieving enduring popularity. The orchestra's success was tragically cut short when Miller disappeared over the English Channel in December 1944 while traveling to entertain U.S. troops during World War II.
