British Hard Rock Band

Hard Stuff was a British hard rock group that was active in the early 1970s. The band was formed by former Atomic Rooster guitarist John Du Cann and bassist John Gustafson, who had played with bands like Quatermass and Roxy Music. They were joined by drummer Paul Hammond, who also came from Atomic Rooster. Hard Stuff released two albums, "Bulletproof" in 1972 and "Bolex Dementia" in 1973, both on the Purple Records label, which was associated with Deep Purple. Their music was characterized by heavy guitar riffs and a hard-edged rock sound typical of the era. Despite a promising start, Hard Stuff's career was relatively short-lived, and they disbanded not long after their second album due to a car accident involving Du Cann and Hammond, as well as other factors such as lack of commercial success and changes in the music scene.
