Maggie Rose

Maggie Rose

Versatile American Country-Soul Singer-Songwriter

Maggie Rose (born Margaret Rose Durante on May 19, 1988) is an American rock, soul, and blues singer. In 2009, Durante signed to Universal Republic as Margaret Durante and released a cover of Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody". A year later, she left Universal Republic and signed to independent Emrose Records, an imprint that used the services of James Stroud's Stroudavarious Records. She charted two singles for Emrose and released her digital EP, Maybe Tonight. Durante changed her recording name to Maggie Rose in 2012 after signing with Scott Siman's RPM Management. When Siman expanded RPM to include a mainstream country label, he launched the album with her as the flagship artist with the first single being "I Ain't Your Mama". In 2017, Rose signed to Starstruck Records and released Change the Whole Thing in September 2018. The LP marked Maggie’s first full-length project since her 2013 debut, Cut to Impress. In addition to its 12 tracks, Change the Whole Thing featured a dozen live in-studio videos, with a one-hour, behind-the-scenes musical documentary on the making of the album. Embracing pop, rock, country, and classic soul, the material on Change The Whole Thing was recorded with Rose’s 13-piece band, and the songs were tracked live — without overdubs — at Nashville’s Starstruck Studios. The third album from Maggie Rose, Have a Seat (released August 20, 2021), is the work of a phenomenally gifted artist showing the full extent of her power. After years of honing her chops and making her name as a force-of-nature vocalist, the Nashville-based singer/songwriter dreamed up her own unbridled collision of rock-and-roll, soul, folk, funk, and R&B: a fittingly eclectic sound for a musician whose live experience includes opening for Heart and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, touring as direct support for Kelly Clarkson, and sharing the Cayamo Cruise bill with Emmylou Harris and Jason Isbell—all in 2019 alone. Centered on the stunning vocal command she’s revealed in taking the stage at The Grand Ole Opry over 80 times, Have a Seat finds Rose approaching her music with more confidence and clarity of vision than ever, ultimately sharing a selection of songs both timeless and urgent.
