Sugar

Sugar was an alternative rock band formed in 1992 by guitarist and vocalist Bob Mould following his departure from the influential punk band Hüsker Dü. Alongside Mould, the lineup included bassist David Barbe and drummer Malcolm Travis. Sugar's music was characterized by its melodic yet forceful sound, which combined elements of punk, power pop, and noise rock. The band quickly gained attention with their debut album "Copper Blue," released in 1992, which received critical acclaim and was a commercial success. They followed up with the EP "Beaster" in 1993 and their second studio album "File Under: Easy Listening" in 1994. Despite their relatively short tenure, Sugar made a significant impact on the alternative rock scene of the early '90s before disbanding in 1995. Bob Mould's songwriting during this period is often noted for its influence on later bands within the genre.
