The Rotted

British Death Metal Band

The Rotted was a UK-based death metal band that emerged from the remnants of the group Gorerotted, which was known for its extreme metal sound and grotesque, horror-themed lyrics. After Gorerotted split up in 2008, some of the members decided to continue under the new name The Rotted as a way to mark a shift in their musical direction and to distance themselves from the comedic elements that were previously associated with Gorerotted. The Rotted maintained the intensity and aggression of their music but aimed for a more serious and straightforward death metal and punk crossover style. They released "Get Dead or Die Trying" in 2008 under Metal Blade Records, which was well-received within the metal community for its ferocity and tight musicianship. The band continued to perform and record until they eventually disbanded, with their last known activity around the early 2010s.
