The Thelonious Monk Quintet

The Thelonious Monk Quintet was a group led by the influential American jazz pianist and composer Thelonious Sphere Monk, whose career spanned several decades from the 1940s to the 1970s. Monk is one of the giants of American jazz and is known for his unique improvisational style and numerous contributions to the standard jazz repertoire, including classics such as "'Round Midnight," "Blue Monk," and "Straight, No Chaser." His work had a considerable impact on the shape of modern jazz and he is often credited with being one of the pioneers of bebop.
