Tom Fogerty

Former Creedence Clearwater Revival Guitarist

Tom Fogerty was an American musician and rhythm guitarist, best known for his work with the rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR). Born on November 9, 1941, in Berkeley, California, he played a significant role in the band's success during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Tom was the older brother of John Fogerty, the lead singer and lead guitarist of CCR. After leaving Creedence Clearwater Revival in 1971 due to tensions within the group, Tom pursued a solo career. He released several solo albums throughout the 1970s and into the early 1980s. His solo work never reached the commercial heights of CCR, but it allowed him to explore his musical interests beyond the shadow of his brother's fame. Tom Fogerty passed away on September 6, 1990, due to complications from AIDS contracted through a tainted blood transfusion.
