All transducers Nagaoka are equipped with Nagaoka MI technology® MI (Moving Iron). This gives them the high level of detail associated with more expensive Moving Coil (MC) systems, while maintaining the convenience of an interchangeable stylus and the high performance associated with Moving Magnet (MM) types. The transmission incorporates a powerful Samarium - Cobalt magnet and high output coil levels so that instead of much heavierthe heavier permanent magnet used in conventional designs, a very lightweight steel and nickel end extension can be used. This reduces the moving mass of the cartridge, allowing the shaker to follow the recording groove more faithfully. The MI system is fully compatible with the basic MM phono input that comes standard with many integrated amplifiers.The result and advantage of this production-intensive system is the high clarity and superior pickup capability with the musicality and tonality accuracy of MC cartridges.

The use of a polished elliptical diamond offers high clarity and excellent sensing capability.
