The15 V / 800 mA switching power supply is suitable for most newer models of Pro-Ject turntables (manufactured from 2013 onwards) that have DC in their name.

Since 2013, when most Pro-Ject turntable models switched from AC power supplies to DC power (DC in the model name), DC 15 V / 800 mA power supplies have been used. The reason for this major change was the extreme sensitivity of AC motors to unwanted DC offset supply voltages.Even very small amounts of DC current (on the order of millivolts) can saturate the motor core and prevent the motor from running smoothly, and tenths of a millivolt can already cause quite severe vibration. DC offset on the AC mains is a common manifestation and unfortunately there are a large number of causes that cause it.However, most of them are completely beyond the control of the user, who can either try to eliminate them or put up with the mechanical noise generated in the synchronous motors of the turntable at home.

The perfect solution to eliminate the problems caused by DC offset is to power the turntable motor with clean energy that is generated byby a low-distortion oscillator and amplified to the required voltage by a low-distortion amplifier. All Pro-Ject turntables equipped with a 15 V DC power supply have this solution already built in.

Before ordering, we recommend checking the power supply parameters on the type plate of your turntable. The specifications listed must match the replacement power supply!

On the back of the turntable, next to the power connection socket, you will find a small label:

If you find a label that says "15V" with a solid horizontal line above the three shorter lines, you need a 15V DC power supply.
