Internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Carla Bruni has announced the release of her fifth studio album, an English-language collection of covers produced by legendary producer, songwriter and musician David Foster called French Touch, which will be released on October 6 on Verve Records / Barclay / Universal Music France.

Since her youth, Carla has loved to sing songs with a touch of sentiment - pop songs forever associated with a person, place or moment in time, recordings that were "love at first sight" for her.

The album, which does its title justice, is richly melodic, warm but simple, and very often playful. All the recordings on the album have been given the "French Touch" and still have the universal charm of the originals, but with a slight French twist.

The album's first single , Depeche Mode's "Enjoy the Silence, " a darkened 1990 classic, is, in her words, "a song that doesn't need a cover," but her version on "French Touch" is something different from the original. Bruni got to the heart of the song, creating a moody ballad, a poignant meditation accompanied by guitar and piano. Her smoke-soaked voice resonates in the pauses with a silence you can enjoy....
