Seine erste Veröffentlichung außerhalb seiner Arbeit als Leadsänger mit Soundgarden, Euphoria Morning, wie es damals hieß, war eine Zusammenarbeit mit Alain Johannes und Natasha Shneider von der Band Eleven, die auf dem Album auftraten, fünf der Tracks mitschrieben und als Co-Produzenten, Ingenieure und Mischer mit Cornell gutgeschrieben wurden. Die erste Single des Albums, "Can't Change Me", wurde bei den GRAMMY® Awards 2000 in der Kategorie "Best Male Rock Vocal Performance" nominiert. "Flutter Girl" war Berichten zufolge ein Outtake von Soundgardens 1994er Album Superunknown, während Cornell später während einer Solotour 2007 enthüllte, dass "Wave Goodbye" als Tribut an Jeff Buckley geschrieben wurde, der 1997 tragisch in Memphis ertrunken war. "Can't Change Me", die erste Single, erreichte Platz 5 in den Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks Charts und Platz 7 in den Modern Rock Tracks Charts.
