However, the album did yield the band's first UK Top 10 single, "See You", which reached number ten on the UK Singles Chart. The album was re-released on CD in 1991 and again in 2006. The album was remastered and re-released on 3 November 2009. The album A Broken Frame was generally well received by music critics. Stephen Thomas Erlewine of AllMusic, in a retrospective review, called the album "a far more accomplished and adventurous achievement than Speak & Spell" and stated that it "reveals a band growing and conquering new territory without sacrificing the core elements that made it unique".
