Few artists can boast such a long, varied and impressive musical career as composer, keyboardist, guitarist, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Ken Hensley. After forming the London-based band The Gods with future Stones and Mayall guitarist Mick Taylor in the mid-1960s, Ken Hensley briefly performed with Toe Fat and Head Machine before joining the band around the time of the release of their debut album 'Very 'Eavy..... Very "umble", he joined Uriah Heep. His solo career began in 1973 with the album "Proud Words On A Dusty Shelf" and Ken is still as busy and prolific today as ever - selling over 45 million albums. My Book of Answers began with a chance meeting at Alicante airport on a flight to Moscow in 2018, when Ken was approached by Russian businessman Vladimir Emelin. Vladimir had no experience in the music industry and had never released a record, but he had been a huge rock fan all his life and had a special respect for Ken. Ken translated Vladimir's Russian lyrics into English and created choruses and verses until he had the basis for nine new songs. The biggest stumbling block on the way to this album was finding the time to create it. And then came the pandemic. Thanks to advances in modern technology, this album was created and completed remotely. "My Book Of Answers" is the last solo album that Uriah Heep keyboardist and songwriter Ken Hensley composed and completed between 1918 and 2020. Cherry Red is proud to release this album posthumously - Ken Hensley passed away on November 5, 2020.
