»Return Of The Boom Bap« ist das erste offizielle Soloalbum von KRS-ONE, das 1993 veröffentlicht wurde. Es erreichte in den Billboard 200 Charts Platz 37 und hat sich laut KRS-ONE über 300.000 mal verkauft.

Anders als bei den meisten Boogie Down Productions LP's, nimmt sich KRS hier bei den Produktionsarbeiten ein wenig zurück und lädt aufsteigende Underground-Stars wie DJ Premier, Showbiz und Kid Capri ein, um die Beats, zusätzlich zu seinen eigenen vier Beiträgen zu produzieren.

Der Song »P Is Still Free« erschien auf dem »Menace To Society Original Soundtrack« als B. D.P. Titel. »Black Cop« erschien ursprünglich nur als 12'' Single, war unter anderem Teil des »CB4« Film Soundtrack und ist ebenfalls als B. D.P. Song gelistet. Das Album wurde als eines der 100 Best Rap Alben von The Source betitelt und 1993 mit vier »Mics« bewertet.
