Listening to it, you'll realize that this album deals with familiar themes. Yet the musician comes across as much more mature and not as fragile as on her previous album "Born To Die". "Super 8 movies for the ears", is how the artist herself describes her new songs. Her new songs offer complexity and Lana shows what she can do with her voice. Sometimes she sings in a more girlish lascivious way, other times more casual and cool. Her own experiences are also reflected in the songs and of course there is no shortage of provocation. She simply never gets tired. Simply fantastic. Lana Del Rey still retains some of the sadness that made her famous, of course, but her new single "West Coast," for example, is not another somber operetta, but rather a simple and hypnotic evocation of the American West Coast lifestyle. Rick Nowels - writer of "Summertime Sadness," among others - stays true to Lana Del Rey's noir-pop style in his production, which is graceful and graceful. Dan Auerbach, producer of the Black Keys, on the other hand, has turned this template into a heartfelt psych-rock production that features surprising tempo changes.
