Michael Jackson: "Xscape" - the new album of the "King of Pop" With "Xscape", Epic Records in collaboration with the Michael Jackson Estate releases a new Michael Jackson album - almost five years after the death of the King of Pop. As the head of Epic Records, L. A. Reid has unrestricted access to Michael Jackson's archives, which include all of his vocal recordings from the past 40 years. Reid then became the curator of the final list of recordings selected for this album. These recordings were given to producers such as Timbaland, Rodney Jerkins, Stargate, Jerome "Jroc" Harmon and John McClain. The challenge was to rework the songs so that they sounded fresh and modern, while retaining the artistic integrity of Michael Jackson at all costs. Michael Jackson's music was to be brought into the present day - just as Michael himself would do if he released the songs today. "Xscape" was released on May 9, 2014 on CD and in a deluxe edition with CD and DVD that includes the original versions and a documentary in addition to the new songs. In addition, the album is also being released as a vinyl LP. Michael Jackson: „Xscape“ – Das neue Album des „King of Pop“

Mit „Xscape“ veröffentlicht Epic Records in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Michael Jackson Estate ein tatsächlich neues Michael Jackson Album – knapp fünf Jahre nach dem Tod des King of Pop.

L.A. Reid erhielt als Chef von Epic Records uneingeschränkten Zugang zu den Michael-Jackson-Archiven, die auch alle Stimmaufnahmen der letzten 40 Jahre enthalten. Reid wurde dann der Kurator einer finalen Liste von Aufnahmen, die für dieses Album ausgewählt wurden.

Diese Aufnahmen wurden an Produzenten wie Timbaland, Rodney Jerkins, Stargate, Jerome „Jroc“ Harmon und John McClain übergeben. Die Vorgabe war das Überarbeiten der Songs in Richtung eines frischen, aktuellen Sounds, wobei auf jeden Fall die künstlerische Integrität von Michael Jackson bewahrt werden musste. Die Musik von Michael Jackson sollte in die heutige Zeit übertragen werden – ganz so, wie Michael selbst es eventuell getan hätte, hätte er die Songs heute veröffentlicht.

„Xscape“ wurde am 9.5.2014 auf CD und als Deluxe-Edition mit CD und DVD veröffentlicht, die neben den neuen Tracks die Originalversionen und eine Dokumentation enthält. Zusätzlich erscheint das Album auch als Vinyl-LP.
