World singing star Mireille Mathieu fulfils a lifelong dream on her new album "Mes Classiques" and pays tribute to her favourite classics. She draws on the greatest melodies of composers such as Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Brahms, Schubert, Fauré and Handel, and complements them with songs by renowned lyricists in seven different languages (French, English, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Latin). For example, the well-known theme from Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's First Piano Concerto will be performed with the French text "Le premier regard d'amour" by Claude Lemesle. There will be, for example, the song "My Rose (Last Rose)", based on the famous Irish poem "The Last Rose of Summer", and the world-famous "Amazing Grace". The album was recorded with the Prague Symphony Orchestra and mastered at Abbey Road Studios in London. Mireille Mathieu, known in this country as the "Sparrow of Avignon", has recorded more than 1,200 songs in nine different languages over her 54-year career. Her discography includes more than 70 studio albums, which have sold over 200 million copies worldwide. She has won music prizes for many productions, winning 4 Bambis in Germany alone.
