New Order have now announced the release of the ultimate Joy Division / New Order TOTAL: From Joy Division To New Order vinyl compilation. Originally released on CD only in June 2011, TOTAL: From Joy Division To New Order is now out on vinyl for the first time. Featuring five legendary Joy Division tracks and 13 essential New Order tracks, the compilation presents the singles versions remastered for vinyl by Frank Arkwright from the 2011 remasters. The album's iconic cover artwork was designed by Howard Wakefield and the artwork by Peter Saville. TOTAL features the Top 10 singles Blue Monday and Regret from New Order, as well as the #1 single World In Motion and Joy Division classics Love Will Tear Us Apart, Transmission, She's Lost Control and Atmosphere, as well as a host of other hits.

The history of Manchester bands Joy Division and New Order has taken centre stage again in recent years. In recent years, the mythos of both bands has been explored in two films: Michael Winterbottom captured the Madchester scene in his film 24 Hours of Party People (2002) and Anton Corbijn attempted to sensitively approach the tragic and charismatic figure of Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis in his successful film portrait Control (2007). Total - from Joy Division to New Order is for the first time a representative and chronological compilation of the most important songs of both bands on one CD, which with 18 tracks manages to cover the entire history up to the present day. As a special treat, the album also includes a new, previously unreleased song called Hellbent.
