Don't Believe the Truth is the seventh studio album by English rock band Oasis , released on 30 May 2005. It was recorded between August and December 2004 with producer Dave Sardi at the band's own Wheeler End Studios in Berkshire. The album was preceded by the singles "Lyla" on 23 May 2005, "The Importance of Being Idle" on 15 August 2005 and "Let There Be Love" on 6 December 2005. The album was a critical and commercial success, debuting at number one in the UK and number two in the US. It went platinum in the UK and sold over three million copies worldwide.
