Dutch Conductor and Classical Musician

Hans Vonk (1942–2004) was a distinguished Dutch conductor known for his work with various orchestras in Europe and the United States. Throughout his career, he served as the chief conductor for the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, the Residentie Orchestra of The Hague, and the Dutch National Ballet. Internationally, he held positions with the Staatskapelle Dresden and the Cologne Radio Symphony Orchestra. In 1996, Vonk became the music director of the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, a role he held until health issues led to his resignation in 2002.
