The Halo Effect is a melodic death metal band from Sweden, formed by former members of the influential band In Flames. The group consists of Jesper Strömblad and Niclas Engelin on guitars, Mikael Stanne on vocals, Peter Iwers on bass, and Daniel Svensson on drums. These musicians are well-known in the metal community for their contributions to the genre, particularly during their tenure with In Flames, which helped to pioneer the melodic death metal sound in the 1990s and early 2000s.
