Ein göttliches Album Mit gerade einmal 25 Jahren veröffentlichte die norwegische Sängerin und Produzentin Aurora bereits drei Studioalben, die in ihrer Heimat auf Platz eins, sieben und vier der Charts landeten. Ihr Song »Runaway«, den sie bereits im Alter von zwölf Jahren schrieb und auf dem Debütalbum veröffentlichte, landete erst kürzlich einen riesigen Erfolg via TikTok und Instagram und konnte so sechs Jahre nach der ursprünglichen Veröffentlichung die Top 40 der UK-Single-Charts knacken.

All das zeigt, welch riesiges Talent in dieser jungen Künstlerin wohnt. Für 2022 hat sie nun ihr viertes Studiowerk angekündigt. »The Gods We Can Touch« ist ein elegantes und himmlisches, aber auch provokantes Album über Scham, Begehren und Moral, alles gesehen durch das erzählerische Prisma der griechischen Mythologie. In jedem der fünfzehn Tracks begegnen wir einer anderen Gottheit, darunter Aphrodite, die Göttin der Liebe, Persephone, die Königin der Verdammten, Morpheus, der Gott der Träume oder Peitho, die Personifizierung von Verführung und Überredung.

»Die Griechen hatten Götter und Göttinnen für alles. Für Angst, für Wein, für Sex … Vor langer Zeit, als dieses Konzept der Götter und Göttinnen entstand, waren sie menschlicher, nachvollziehbarer und fast greifbar. Und das Wichtigste: Sie hatten Fehler«, so Aurora, die übrigens selbst den Namen einer Göttin trägt.
