Motörhead's 1979 album Overkill is one of the band's most popular and best-known albums. The album was released in March 1979 and reached number 24 in the UK album chart. The album was produced by Jimmy Miller, who also produced albums by the Rolling Stones and The Who. Overkill was the band's first album to feature Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor on drums. The album's title track was released as a single and reached number 38 in the UK Singles Chart. The album was re-released in 1992 as a double live album, No Sleep 'til Hammersmith.
