Expectations exceeded Probably few people expected it. In 2016, The Last Shadow Puppets unveiled their new second studio album, Everything You've Come To Expect. The Brits kept their fans waiting eight whole years for the follow-up to "The Age Of The Understatement". Not surprising, as Miles Kane has been busy with his band The Rascals and more recently with his solo project. Meanwhile, Alex Turner has released three new albums with his Arctic Monkeys, all of which have reached number one. On "Everything You've Come To Expect", Kane and Turner collaborated again with drummer James Ford (Simian Mobile Disco), who also produced the album. They were supported on bass guitar by American Zach Dawes of Mini Mansions and string arrangements were again provided by Owen Pallett. Together they headed to Rick Rubin's Shangri La Studios in Malibu, California, where the band recorded a total of eleven new songs, including "Bad Habits", the first single from the album, "Everything You've Come To Expect". It's a loud, haunting, somewhat chaotic psychedelic indie rock song with a rolling bass line and constantly prominent string accents - a successful precursor to Patte. According to Last Shadow Puppets, "Everything You've Come To Expect" is the second album in a planned trilogy. The album cover features a photograph of singer Tina Turner taken by American photographer Jack Robinson in November 1969. In addition to the standard CD, "Everything You've Come To Expect" is available in a limited Deluxe Edition. It includes a hardcover CD and a 40-page booklet. The album is also available as an LP (180g) with a download code and as an additional limited Deluxe edition LP including a 7" vinyl with the single "Bad Habits" and the bonus track "The Bourne Identity". With "Everything You've Come To Expect", The Last Shadow Puppets finally pick up where they left off eight years ago with its predecessor - which eventually topped the UK charts. Contrary to the title, this album even exceeds fans' expectations.
