Proper Grounds

Proper Grounds was a hip-hop/rock band that emerged in the early 1990s. They were known for blending elements of rap, metal, and punk, which was a relatively fresh sound at the time. The band signed with a major label, Priority Records, and released their debut album "Downtown Circus Gang" in 1993. Despite their innovative approach to music and the burgeoning crossover genre, Proper Grounds did not achieve significant mainstream success. Their style can be compared to other bands that were fusing rock and hip-hop during that era, such as Rage Against the Machine and Red Hot Chili Peppers. However, Proper Grounds' tenure in the music industry was relatively short-lived, and they remain a lesser-known act from the period that contributed to the diverse soundscape of 90s alternative music.
